An overhead headphone takes the shape of a padded arch over the crown, with a cup hanging from each end on a hinged yoke. The shells are moulded in PC+ABS and sprayed with a paint that leaves the outside looking like metal rather than plastic. Each yoke folds at the band, and the arms slide inside the arch so the cups sit at the ear. You lift the band onto your head, draw the cups down, and settle the cushions against your ears. Between uses the cups swing flat and the set goes into a tote, a drawer, or a shelf tray on the counter.

• Foam rings line each cup opening, so the plastic shell rests on cushion rather than pressing on the ear
• Each cup turns on a yoke hinge at the band end and folds inward until it lies beside the headband
• Arms slide through the arch and hold at set lengths, so the band sits where you set it for the wearer
• Buttons sit on the outer face of one cup within thumb reach, so a call starts without lifting the handset
• A charging socket sits at the lower edge of one cup, where a thumb finds it without turning the set over
