A dead handset on a campsite or at an open-air stall has no outlet nearby, so a small solar unit lets daylight do the topping up. The panel rests on a backpack or dashboard while the built-in lithium cell stores power for later.
The compact housing carries a USB output connector, so newer cell phones fitted with a USB connect-line can draw a charge. The same output suits ipod, audio player,PDA, MP4 player, radios, portable CD/MP3 players,Digital cameras. A readable charge indicator and a sturdy shell help travelers judge progress and protect the panel in transit.
