WIND UP TORTOISE

Product Detailed Description

Set a wind up tortoise on a desk or countertop and it shuffles forward on its own, drawing a smile before it slows and stops. Give the key another turn and the little shelled figure is off again, always ready for a second round.

Build and finish

A coiled spring inside the body stores the energy, and a simple gear train carries it to the legs. The shell and limbs are shaped into a friendly, rounded form with a bright painted finish that reads well from a distance. Because the movement comes from winding alone, there are no batteries to stock or replace, and the tortoise keeps working whenever someone takes the time to turn the key.

Uses and gifting

• Impulse displays near a checkout counter
• Party favors and stocking fillers
• Small countertop novelties for gift shops
• Retro collectors adding to a shelf

Brand marks can be printed on the body panels, making these a practical giveaway for promotional suppliers building a mixed assortment. Younger children should handle the winding with adult supervision.
