A pan left unattended on the burner fills a hallway with smoke long before anyone sees flame. The alarm that answers that moment belongs on the ceiling of every bedroom, hallway and level of a home, and this standalone unit does exactly that job without wiring into a panel.
The detector housing measures dia 133 x 50 and runs on a 9V battery, drawing working current of <=5uA. Sound output reaches >=85db, loud enough to give adequate warning in case of fire. A photoelectric chamber reads scattered light from smoldering starts as readily as it responds to a fast, spreading blaze, so slow smoky beginnings are not missed.
Setup takes a screwdriver: fix the bracket, twist the alarm into place, press the test button and listen for the horn. Units sit clear of bathrooms and kitchens, where steam can set off a nuisance trip. Corporate safety kits, landlord turnovers and employee welcome packs all suit a compact alarm, and logo printing on the shell or retail box is available on request.
